    ·  Prep: 10 mins  ·  Cook: 20 mins  ·  Makes 6 patties

These savory sweet potato patties are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Made with warming spices and simple pantry staples, they work as a snack, a burger patty, or a side dish.

    Ingredients

    • 2 large sweet potatoes, boiled and mashed
    • ½ cup onion, finely chopped
    • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
    • 1 tbsp garam masala
    • 2 cups breadcrumbs
    • Salt to taste
    • Oil for shallow frying (or cooking spray for baking)

    Instructions

    1. Boil sweet potatoes until tender. Drain well and mash until smooth. Let cool slightly.
    2. Mix in the onion, ginger garlic paste, garam masala, and salt.
    3. Add breadcrumbs and mix until the dough holds its shape and is not sticky.
    4. Shape into 6 round flat patties. Refrigerate for 15 minutes.
    5. To fry: Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Cook 4–5 mins per side until golden and crispy.
    6. To bake: Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F). Place on a lined tray, spray with oil, and bake 20–25 mins, flipping halfway.

💡 Tip: The drier your mash, the crispier your patty. Always chill before cooking so they hold their shape.
