· Prep: 10 mins · Cook: 20 mins · Makes 6 patties
These savory sweet potato patties are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Made with warming spices and simple pantry staples, they work as a snack, a burger patty, or a side dish.
Ingredients

- 2 large sweet potatoes, boiled and mashed
- ½ cup onion, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 tbsp garam masala
- 2 cups breadcrumbs
- Salt to taste
- Oil for shallow frying (or cooking spray for baking)
Instructions
- Boil sweet potatoes until tender. Drain well and mash until smooth. Let cool slightly.
- Mix in the onion, ginger garlic paste, garam masala, and salt.
- Add breadcrumbs and mix until the dough holds its shape and is not sticky.
- Shape into 6 round flat patties. Refrigerate for 15 minutes.
- To fry: Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Cook 4–5 mins per side until golden and crispy.
- To bake: Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F). Place on a lined tray, spray with oil, and bake 20–25 mins, flipping halfway.
💡 Tip: The drier your mash, the crispier your patty. Always chill before cooking so they hold their shape.
